Please consider donating to us so we can continue delivering our vital grief counselling service.
The Harbour is a small Bristol-based charity offering specialist grief counselling for people who are dying, their carers and those who have been bereaved due to life-threatening illness.
In 2023 our work is more important than ever, as we deal with the ongoing impact of the pandemic and the current cost-of-living crisis.
Covid-19 has been especially difficult for those facing death, dying and bereavement:
- People have had to grieve in isolation, without the usual grieving rituals and support networks.
- Many of those experiencing, or caring for someone with, a life-threatening illness had to shield, reducing access to support and compounding anxiety.
- Difficulty accessing GP and hospital appointments means testing and treatment for life-threatening illnesses has been delayed, sometimes fatally.
The impact of these factors on mental health is immense, and the need for our service has never been greater. However, due to unprecedented demand and disruption, sources of funding that would ordinarily support us have become harder to secure.
Can you help The Harbour to help others when they need it most?
In 2023 we will strive to help those most in need in our community, removing barriers to our accessibility, particularly in more deprived areas of Bristol.
We were overwhelmed by the support we receieved from donors in 2022 and the significant contribution made to securing the future of The Harbour. This year we will continue to provide a counselling service where the ability to pay will never be a barrier to access our vital service. Please donate and help us to help others via the provision of free and subsidised counselling sessions.
Anything that you are able to contribute would be so greatly appreciated and would make such a difference to our small but vital charity.
With your help, we can continue being there for people as they face death, dying and bereavement.
